Restoring a Legend: TECI Supports the Ian Fleming Foundation’s Goldfinger Jetstar Restoration
Turbine Engine Consultants, Inc. (TECI) is proud to have played a small but meaningful role in restoring one of the most iconic aircraft in cinematic history—the Lockheed Jetstar used by Auric Goldfinger in the 1964 James Bond classic Goldfinger. Through a partnership with the Ian Fleming Foundation, TECI supplied a range of critical parts and avionics components at no cost to support the full restoration of this legendary aircraft.
The aircraft, a Lockheed US VC-140B Jetstar, served as Auric Goldfinger’s personal jet in the film, famously featured in scenes with Sean Connery’s 007. Over the decades, the aircraft had fallen into disrepair, but thanks to the dedication of the Ian Fleming Foundation and a network of committed aviation professionals, it is being restored to its former glory.
TECI worked closely with the restoration team handling the fuselage and cockpit, helping ensure accuracy and authenticity throughout the process. Our technical expertise and access to rare, hard-to-find components allowed the team to rebuild key avionics systems and structural elements with the confidence that they were staying true to the original aircraft configuration.
As a company dedicated to supporting the aviation industry—both in commercial service and historical preservation—we were honored to contribute to a project that merges aviation, film history, and cultural legacy.
